Our Mission
Our mission is to improve the quality of life of our residents suffering from Alzheimer's and related dementias in a
residential, home-style, least restrictive, but secure environment while providing ongoing support and peace of mind
to their families through the dedicated services of competant, caring and compassionate Care Specialists.
Our Company
Assured Assisted Living is owned and operated by a wife and husband team: Sheryl A. Thompson, R.N., CMIS-I, President
and CEO and John A. Thompson, Vice-President. Their professional experiences with seniors include being the founders and managing
members of Assured Horizons Eldercare and Assured Horizons, LLC which was the largest company offering 14 residential
care facilities for Alzheimer's and medically frail seniors in Orange County, California since 1995.
After several trips to Colorado and visiting the homes of Sheryl's Mother, Father, Maternal Grandparents and Great
Grandparents in the cities of Denver and Colorado Springs the Thompson's fell in love with the beauty and friendliness
of Colorado and decided to permanently make Colorado home.
We plan on continuing our expertise and passion in serving the needs of residents with Alzheimer's disease and related
dementias at Assured Assisted Living with the same dedication of service and quality of care as we have in the past.
Our Staff
We are proud of the great employees who work for Assured Assisted Living. Our Care Specialists are totally committed,
highly qualified and carefully selected individuals who possess a heart for service, especially for those with some form of
dementia.
In addition to their previous experience, our Care Specialists recieve initial training that includes a specialized curriculum
leading to national recognition as a Certified Memory Impairment Specialist (CMIS).
The core of the program consists of five modules:
- Introduction to Memory Impairments
- Behaviors
- Communications
- Activities of Daily Living
- Living Environment
Their professional skills are also continually enhanced through our own extensive series of dementia-specific mini-modules
exclusive to Assured Assisted Living. The continual training program facilitate the staff by acquiring a whole bank of ideas
and successful strategies for improving the quality of care they provide for individuals with memory loss.
